Building Incredible Kids

Would you like for your child to do more than just hear a story and make a craft when they come to church? Do you want them to have the opportunity to experience real spiritual growth? If so, HiZhouse was built with you in mind. Our goal is that by the time kids leave HiZhouse they will have a strong foundation in their faith and be equipped to live it out.

PRESCHOOL

Preschoolers are nurtured physically, emotionally and spiritually at HiZhouse. Age grouped classes allow preschoolers to learn about God’s love through wonderful Bible stories, songs and fun activities designed just for them. Classes are equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment which helps to provide a safe and secure environment for preschoolers.

Dedicated Volunteers lead weekly Community Groups to provide energized Bible exploration while using activities and games that captivate their attention. Children will also discover how they can apply Bible truths to their daily lives. (Kindergarten & 1st Grade, 2nd & 3rd Grade, 4th & 5th Grade)

10:45–12:00
Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade meet in HiZbackyard for Children’s Worship! Parent/Child Dedication

We take seriously a parent’s call and responsibility to raise their child in a home where Christian values and beliefs are taught and offer a service to celebrate their commitment to the Lord. There are two parts to our Dedication Service that takes place several times each year.

First on a Saturday a gathering of family and friends meet in front of the Creation Window in the lobby of our church. The service is led by the Children’s Pastor and includes scripture, a time for parents to commit themselves to the Christian nurture and raising of their child, a prayer, the reading of letters written by the parents to their child and a time of family sharing and celebration.

The second part occurs at the beginning of either the 9:00 or Ten45 Worship Service on Sunday. At this time parents and children are introduced to the church.

First Step for Kids

Has your child been asking questions about salvation or baptism? Would you like to answer their questions but you're not sure what to say or how? Well, HiZhouse Children's Ministry has a great opportunity to help guide your child through this very important time in their lives. It's called First Step for Kids.

First Step for Kids is a time when kids come with their parents to learn more about what it means to be a Christian. We'll talk about how sin seperates us from God and how Jesus can reunite us with God. We'll talk about what it means to follow Jesus, about baptism and help kids get started in the right direction.

5th Grade Worship Team

Image your child helping to lead Children’s Worship through music, reading scripture, taking up the offering, praying or helping with games. Whatever their interests we'd like to help them find a way to use their talents that positively impacts the lives of others. We know that when kids use their God given talents and abilities to serve Him and others their faith comes alive. Team training will be offered periodically to help 5th graders understand their responsibilities and prepare for the next Worship theme.

Contact Denise Shelton at dshelton@fbcstpete.org or 727.576.5508 to inquire about any of the items listed above.
